WeAreTheCity helps organizations attract, retain and develop their female talent. As a leading women’s website for careers, awards, women in tech and networking events, WeAreTheCity profiles inspirational corporate women and recently featured Duff & Phelps’ Rebecca Fuller. Rebecca is a managing director in the London office in the Valuation Advisory practice and head of business development in the UK and the MENA region.
Rebecca specializes in the risk management, insurance broker and underwriting communities practices, where she has garnered an excellent reputation. On a day-to-day basis Rebecca says, “I assist companies, mainly large global corporates, with valuation issues for a wide range of purposes including the provision of insurance values for placement, risk management, disputes and litigation, asset tracking and reconciliation and cyber risk.” Rebecca witnessed the lack of gender diversity in the workplace firsthand when she started her career in London. She highlighted the pleasant surprise of having female colleagues when joining Duff & Phelps in 2014. This is one of the reasons why Rebecca launched Duff & Phelps’ Network of Women (NOW) in London, expanding the committee into the UK: “Sharing experiences with so many women with incredible drive and determination in the workplace, and throughout our Network of Women is inspiring.”
Rebecca credits her professional success to the, “strong, knowledgeable and incredibly understanding people” surrounding her. Regarding her experience with Duff & Phelps, Rebecca says, “its collaborative culture has been a huge motivator and source of support for me and my progression at the firm.”
It comes as no surprise then, that Rebecca feels strongly about mentoring, as she admits to having a number of mentors herself, and the importance of setting a positive example for her daughters.
When asked about the next challenge she is hoping to achieve, Rebecca shares, “One of my goals within the industry is to raise awareness around the need to adopt legislation to regulate insurance valuations.”
