Jimmy is a director at Duff & Phelps and part of the Global Restructuring Advisory practice. He specializes in advisory work and formal corporate restructuring. Jimmy’s role involves advising company directors, lenders and investors on a wide range of matters, however most often where the business has financial challenges. Typically, this may include underperformance, cash flow difficulties, stakeholder management, refinancing, fund-raising or divestiture of non-core operations.

He also provides acquisition support for purchasers looking to buy stressed or distressed businesses. This includes due diligence, transactional support, deal negotiation and post-acquisition transition, stabilization and integration services. 

Jimmy has led many formal restructuring appointments including several high-street retailers. He has also worked on a number of multi-jurisdictional projects, one of which involved working in the Netherlands for 8 months. Recently he has led restructuring assignments for private equity, asset-based lenders and clearing banks which has also included identification and investigation of various fraudulent activities and litigation support for clients.

Whilst Jimmy has worked in a range of industries, his particular focus is on retail, consumer goods and food production. He is also experienced in dealing with engineering and manufacturing businesses and recently led a long term restructure of a multi-site waste management business for a banking syndicate. In addition, Jimmy has led the restructuring of several professional services firms.

Jimmy spent 12 months on secondment with the business support team of a UK clearing bank, managing SME clients with debt levels of up to £120m. He holds a law degree LLB (Hons) Exon, he is an FCCA qualified accountant and is JIEB qualified.
